Your booking page

Changing your handle without breaking the link in your bio

Your handle is the part of your link after the domain — the piece you paste into an Instagram bio. You can change it whenever you like, and the links you have already shared keep working.

Old links redirect, permanently

When you rename, we remember the old handle. Anyone opening a link with it is sent to the new one — profile, booking pages and store alike. That matters because your old handle is sitting in posts you cannot edit, in WhatsApp threads, on a business card, in someone’s screenshot.

Search engines are told the move is permanent, so whatever ranking your page has built follows it across rather than starting again.

Bookings already made are unaffected. A client holding a confirmation link can still open it, see their appointment and cancel it if they need to — renaming your business does not lock anyone out of a booking they already have.

What to update yourself

We can redirect a link. We cannot edit your Instagram bio. After renaming, change the link anywhere you control it — bio, WhatsApp Business profile, TikTok, your email signature — so new visitors go straight to the new address instead of through a redirect.

There is no hurry. The redirect is not a temporary grace period; it stays. This is housekeeping, not a deadline.

Choosing a handle

Lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens. Short beats clever: it gets typed by hand more often than you would expect, read aloud over the phone, and squeezed into a bio next to everything else you are trying to say.

Your business name is usually the right answer. If it is taken, add what you do or where you are rather than a number — someone reading it should be able to guess it correctly.

Didn’t answer it? Email us — a person replies.
